Goalkeeper Luke Southwood has returned to Hamilton on loan until the end of the season after signing a new 18-month deal with Reading.
The 22-year old made his debut against Rangers in November, where he seriously impressed and kept his spot by playing every game since.
Southwood returned back to Championship side to be assessed by Mark Bowen and was on the bench for both FA Cup games against Blackpool.
It is understood that Owain Fon-Williams will start against Hibernian tonight, but the Welshman will be fighting it out with Southwood for a starting place against Livingston on Saturday when he starts back training with Brian Rice’s side on Thursday.
Hamilton fans have been impressed with the Englishman since his debut and are delighted to have him back while Reading fans hold Southwood in high regard and believe he will be their future number one.
Speaking to Hamilton’s club website, Southwood said: “I’m buzzing to get back to business and playing for Hamilton. I really enjoyed playing there and it was brilliant to end 2019 on a high after defeating Motherwell. The fans at Hamilton have been very supportive of me and hopefully I can continue to pay them back with good performances.”
