Hamilton made their first signing of the January transfer window this evening as they announced that Andy Dales has joined on loan until the end of the season.
The signing comes after what has been a difficult week for Accies fans, with Sam Stubbs and Luke Southwood being recalled early by their parent clubs.
Stubbs signed for Dutch side ADO Den Haag yesterday afternoon and will be working under the well known Alan Pardew.
Dales made 25 appearances for the League Two side in 2018 before spending last season on loan at Dundee, where he played 12 games.
The 25-year-old has played just 36 minutes of football this season for Scunthorpe and is in desperate need of game time.
In a statement by the club, Brian Rice said:” I’ve seen Andy play and know what he’s capable of. He’s someone who’s caught my eye and I’ve always monitored his progress. I believe he will be a strong addition to our squad and adds options to our wingers, an area I was looking to strengthen.”
Dales came through the ranks at Derby County before impressing when playing for Northern Premier League side Mickleover Sports, where he was then snapped up by the Glanford Park side.
